WordPress blogs are under attack after a old friend is back causing havoc. A worm is attacking WordPress blogs which are yet to be patched with the WordPress 2.8.4 release. This release, although contains minor changes is now probably one of the most important updates you will need to update to. This update fixes the security which this worm is using to exploit WordPress blogs, the worm is quite strong and therefore should not be taken lightly. Click for the full insight on the worm.

Speeding up your WordPress Dashboard

Recently, I’ve noticed when I’ve been administrating my blog, my WordPress dashboard has become awfully slow, and I mean slow. The loading of the dashboard was like dial up speeds and im on a 2 MB broadband connection (Soon to be 10 MB) so it was a joke really. So I went hunting for some tips on getting my WordPress Dashboard like the speed of light again. Not all of the tips I found helped my specific situation, but some might help you if your in a similar situation

Multi Columned Layouts in CSS3

It’s been a while since my last CSS3 post/tutorial but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been following the development of CSS3. I have been looking at some of the newer features that have recently been implemented and one that’s caught my eye is the multi column layout module. You can already guess what this module can do. Thats right it creates columns! Using the new column module it allows you to create columns in the form of a newspaper style column. News websites and blogs rejoice! Lets take a look at how we can create columns with the new module.

Controlling www or no www in .htaccess

When you go to punch in a URL in your browsers address bar, you may add the www. or be lazy and just put in thedomain.com, sometimes you can use both and sometimes one of the two redirects to the other version of the address. For example if you type in james-blogs.com in your URL address bar the www. suddenly is added on, why? This is because for SEO purposes it is important that you have one constant varitation while redirecting the both to chosen variation in my case I make the www. appear as I think it looks better with blog and domains with a dash in them.
