Phishing and how to spot it

Phishing emails (Not fishing), also known as hoax or fake emails are generally assosiated with websites that use some form of online payment system, a classic target is banks, as many banks have the option to do online banking phishing can be found occuring within that sector, however today I received a very suspect email from eBay (Well claiming to be eBay) So you may be thinking so what? Well what makes this email so suspect already is the fact I don’t have a ebay account or having to do with eBay assosiated with my email address!

Five things to do before installing Vista

This comes from experience of having problems installing Windows Vista on my primary desktop after following every little bit of Microsoft advice and guidance. Well (and not trying to sound rude here) but there guidance didn’t guide me to anywhere vista related, instead I was guided to the Windows XP installer after I had to downgrade back to XP after the installer failed several times, but with this I can offer my own personal experience to hopefully help people who are looking to buy Windows Vista.

Your Favorite Windows OS

Okay so after my post on Windows Vista Ultimate I got thinking of what older Windows operating systems I used to use. I actually was surprised when I found that I’ve used several different systems, and even still to this day own some of the CD’s for them, even going back to Windows 3.1! Yes it’s true I have used Windows 3.1 and can I just say that paint rocked on it. Screw MS paint now, Windows 3.1 paint was where it was at. Old school baby! But seriously here’s a list of Windows operating systems I have used.

Windows Vista Ultimate

After about a month of endless google searches and troubleshooting guides I have managed to install the new Windows Vista Ultimate Operating System. I had been having problems with installing Windows Vista on my primary desktop machine, as the installer would lock up in a certain amount of time and crash, rendering my PC unusable. At first the possibility of having a bad disc could of been causing this problem, but thanks to a good friend of mine Chris, (I.T/Computer Engineer) he was able to give me a machine to test out my disc.
