Your opinion about FB and Twitter and your 10 “reasons” does not play well together. First of all, half of your reasons are about Twitter (as well as Facebook). So it’s not a “Facebook is bad” case, it’s a “Facebook is too complicated for me” case. Or, a matter of personal preference.

And about #6. I am photographer and am building my professional and client network through Facebook. It gives me at least 2-3 assignments per month and it works great as a way to get students for my photography school. So, you are completely wrong. Facebook can be a great moneymaking tool if used properly.

although it is stupid to post benign comments on facebook – or even just use twitter – i always felt “bloggers” said the largest majority of white noise in modern media. i dont know, writing 1000 words of personal opinion that is easily forgetable seems like a waist of time if the only people who read it agree with your bias; what are the readers trying to do, get peer confirmation on their thier ideas? on a subject denouncing redundant social networking, it just seems hipocritical. but that is okay, because as americans, we like to feed the vicious circle that is mainstream hipocracy; it is the reason behind the social networking craze.

Of course there are no hard feelings You have an opinion, I have my opinion, it’s the differences that make the world! Sorry if my reply made you feel that.

I have always wanted to get into plugins and also learn more about jQuery, but the problem for me is finding the time these days. The new theme design for the blog got delayed by two months due to my current commitments but hopefully in the future I can get some jQuery type content posted.

JavaScript is easier to learn, but you should have a good understanding of it before you look at jQuery, specifically how JavaScript works with the DOM (Document Object Model). As that’s what a lot of jQuery is about, modifying document elements to provide additional functionality.

I hope there are no hard feelings, James. I thoroughly enjoy the rest of your blog and I come here from time to time to learn something new. . It is obvious to me that you are a very competent web designer. Btw, have you ever considered coding some jquery plugins. I am a huge fan of Jquery and since I am slowly working away at a larger personal web site / project I am presently looking all over for some very unique plugins that meet my specialized needs. I may have no choice but to teach myself Jquery and build my own. Well, I have read that it is easier to learn than old school jabbascript which I never got very good at.

Ha ha thanks for that. Hidden apology? I just said I preferred Twitter, personal preference really. I really don’t care how fast someone can see someone’s status or updates on the worlds events. Though on Facebook you’ll probably know when someone’s eating a sandwich quicker than me so good for you! Obviously I struck a cord with you. But it’s OK, don’t worry Facebook still loves you.
